New speaker announced - Douglas Crockford

Douglas Crockford’s short, rather droll official bio comes in at a mere 76 words. But these 76 words tell us he was a Director of New Media at Paramount, and Director of Technology at LucasFilm, two accomplishments which for most of us would be by themselves crowning professional achievements. But Crockford’s achievements merely begin there. There are few if any alive who know more about Javascript (Brendan Eich, inventor of Javascript, calls him the “Yoda of lambda programming and Javascript”), he invented the JSON notation, and his understanding of Javascript and Ajax security is unparalleled. So, it’s an understatement to say we are frankly privileged to have Douglas Crockford speaking at Web Directions North on Ajax Security.  In this session

  • Learn why effective security is an inherent feature of good design
  • Experience a real-time demo of a Ajax client/server system based on sound security principles
  • See how to apply secure design to rich web applications.

For anyone with even a passing interest in scripting (and in this age of webapps, that’s pretty much all web designers and developers) this is an unmissable session.
